Full Job Description

The Chief Conduct & Controls Office (CCCO) function ensures oversight and delivery of the first line of defence, the permanent control framework and monitoring of risks. The department consists of governance, conduct and controls and data protection. The CCCO office reports to the Chief of Staff to the Head of the Securities Services UK & Middle East business line.

This role will work closely with the Chief Conduct and Controls Officer, business and OPC (Operational Permanent Control) managers, the Data Protection Office, Financial Security, Third Party Risk Management, Record Management Office, other Single Points of Contact (SPOCS) and the Territory Data Protection Officer to support the business in complying with relevant legislation, Group and Metier policies and practices and other Level 1 operational RISK matters.

Development, implementation, maintenance, and execution of Financial Security, Data Protection and Record Management First Line of Defence controls in-line with the Group and local requirements.

Ensuring that issues identified are dealt with in a timely manner and receive sufficient business focus.

Reporting and participating in other projects and initiatives as required and as part of ongoing career and technical development.

Scope: UK CIB Securities Services (CIB2S), compliance with Financial Security, Data Protection and Record Management policies and recommendations, know your supplier requirements, and all connected 1LOD requirements., Support the UK & ME management team and CCCO with meeting compliance and regulatory obligations Establish standard reporting to monitor audit and other internal recommendations, policies, procedures with regard to the Financial Security, Record Retention and Data Management. Ensure global processes roadmap and remediation plans are implemented in the region and managed and reported correctly Support the UK & ME management team and CCCO with the preparation for meetings with the regulator or their requests for information Performing risk assessments, controls and reviews across applicable transversal control topics (e.g. Financial Security, Record management, Data Protection assessments including compliance with GDPR and other control topics as directed) within CIB2S UK to provide reasonable assurance to Line Manager and CCCO that there are adequate controls in place. Making appropriate suggestion for enhancements of controls, processes and procedures where relevant Testing application
and effectiveness of in scope policies and procedures (by undertaking 1LOD assurance testing as defined in the control and monitoring plan) across CIB2S business Testing of activities which have been "near-shored" from London, primarily to BNPP Lisbon but also other locations as needed. Maintaining appropriate records and work papers detailing the review work or analysis undertaken Preparation of control and review reports outlining key findings and agreed remediating actions Ensuring that issues identified are dealt with in a timely manner and receive sufficient focus Supporting development, implementation, and execution of in scope 1LOD Assurance Plan MI reporting and participation in other projects and initiatives Continuously enhance the respective applicable frameworks to: Establish standards for defining the risk cartography, and implementing, evaluating, tracking, reporting, and testing of controls Monitor roadmaps and priorities Review periodically existing

Proven experience working in a control environment with particular focus on Financial Security and Data Protection Experience with preparing management information to inform senior management decision making (i.e. to mitigate risk) Good working knowledge of Data Protection requirements and of the UK control environment further to regulator guidance on generic controls. Good analytical skills, with good Microsoft Excel and data analysis capability. Broad understanding of general client confidentiality risk associated with product, jurisdiction and client-type(s). Ability to apply holistic approach to identifying, investigating, and mitigating business risk and (to propose risk mitigates) when presenting an informed/balanced view of issues to line Management. Excellent team player within a high-pressure environment. First class communication skills, both written and oral. A proven ability to present a given issue to Management and argue a case accordingly. A
self-starter who requires minimal supervision. A proactive approach to all aspects of the role will be essential. A proven ability to make quick decisions whilst also ensuring that all issues have been appropriately considered and mitigated.
