Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to run the Operational Finance team and line manage two junior staff. They will also work closely with the wider Finance team, the Senior Leadership Team and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.,

  • Managing, mentoring and developing an Assistant Management Accountant and an Accounts Payable Assistant

  • Reviewing monthly management accounts for five Group companies and the Group consolidation

  • Preparing more judgemental areas of the management accounts (Intangible Assets, Share Based Payments, Warrants)

  • Reviewing monthly department reporting packs and presenting them to the related business partners

  • Continuously streamline and improve the management accounts and department reporting processes

  • Managing the annual audit and be the main contact for auditors

  • Managing cashflows and preparing cashflow forecasts

  • Preparing the HR budget model and supporting with the annual budgeting process

  • Liaising with HR and our external payroll provider to carry out the monthly payroll process

  • Preparing and tracking share option grants and reporting the ERS annual submission

  • Managing the annual insurance renewals

  • Reviewing the bi-annual royalty statements

  • Reviewing VAT, P11D, PSA submissions to HMRC

  • Assisting with any ad hoc analysis and requests from the business

    The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years' experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Accountancy role, preferably in a similar media business. They will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, and in particular have experience of the key areas of responsibilities listed below., ACA/ACCA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification


  • High levels of attention to detail and the ability to manage complex data


  • Highly proficient in Excel


  • Able to effectively communicate financial information to a range of stakeholders, including non-financial audiences


  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders


  • Experience managing a team and ensuring they are effectively working and developing, You are highly organised and able to calmly prioritise projects, being mindful of key deadlines while maintaining a view of the big picture

  • You are detail oriented, thorough and value accuracy

  • You are an independent self-starter who pro-actively takes the initiative and anticipates potential questions, challenges and next steps

  • You have the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organisation

  • You are passionate about making an impact to Acamar's business and team

  • Ideally you have existing experience in the media industry
