Full Job Description
As Digby Financial Controller, you will be involved in:
- Financial operations management and oversight
- Bookkeeping, data analysis and related data quality management
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including credit control and supplier payments
- Monthly review of Payroll ensuring all payments are set up and processed correctly, working with our accounting firm
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns ensuring HMRC filing requirements are adhered to
- Manage the financial aspects of end-to-end inventory management and product costing, supporting a business based on making and selling an aged, luxury product
- Lead the relationship with our accounting firm including special projects
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, working with our accounting firm
- Oversee annual reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss for the statutory accounts, working with our accounting firm
- Aid in creation of the annual budget and forecasting
- Provide assistance to and answer queries from management and the Board on financial aspects of the business
- Post monthly accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments
- Prepare Monthly Management Accounts and Quarterly reporting including Balance Sheet reconciliations, revenue and cost analysis
- Prepare monthly cashflow reports
- Help the company to ensure it is maximising the value from its processes, systems and procurement
- Assist with Company Secretarial matters as required, e.g. taking Board Minutes, entering filings, managing compliance
- Assist with corporate matters as required, e.g. HR administration working with our professional HR contractor, facilities management assistance, etc.
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA
- 2+ years in a similar role
- Experience with stock accounting highly preferred
- Willing to adopt a hands-on role and undertake transactional work as necessary
- Experience in drinks industry helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Xero or similar cloud accounting system preferred as well as knowledge of e-commerce accounting/reconciling
Salary Dependent on experience, stock options programme available

Working Hours Permanent, full-time role
~4-5 days per week preferred (minimum 25 hours per week).
Note: Digby would consider part-time applicants for this role in certain circumstances.
