  • About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Financial Processes, Systems and Assurance team, based in the Finance Division. The role covers all aspects of financial administration, providing assurance that the University's financial processes and controls are properly designed and operating as intended - a fascinating opportunity to engage in the full range of financial administration challenges across the University.
The work of the team is evolving, and this is a great chance to be involved in establishing and implementing a programme of work for providing assurance on an ongoing basis. With a focus on research finance, you will support the provision of assurance over the design of financial processes and controls across the University, working with senior colleagues within the Finance Division.
You will also support the Annual Departmental Self-Assurance exercise and Annual Programme of Departmental Visits, supporting departmental and divisional colleagues to provide support in the implementation of controls. This is an excellent opportunity to work with colleagues across the Unviersity.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
This is a hybrid role based primarily within the FPSA team at the Finance Division's offices in Hythe Bridge Street, but it is likely that time will be spent visiting departments across Oxford. You will be able to agree a pattern of remote working with your line manager around visit commitments.

This post would suit someone who is working towards or has recently achieved a professional qualification in accountancy or internal audit, or with equivalent experience in business processes. Experience of research finance processes and management would be beneficial.
You should have an understanding of financial controls and an ability to operate in a complex environment and take initiative to develop and implement with new ways of obtaining assurance.
You should have proven experience in a relevant role, and excellent communication skills together with the ability to deal sensitively with key issues and gain the confidence of senior University officers and accounting professionals.

Finance Division, Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford
This is an opportunity to be part of the fascinating work taking an overview of the University's financial administration, providing assurance over effective operation and working with colleagues in the Finance Division and across the institution to share best practice and strengthen financial control.
The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.
