Full Job Description

Become a key player in our ASL finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Group Finance Shared Services. As the Financial Accountant for Austria, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless month-end processes for three Austrian entities. Your role is essential for maintaining regulatory compliance and guiding strategic financial decisions.
Main Responsibilities
Transactional Finance:

  • Take the lead in transactional finance processes, collaborating closely with your team to ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.

  • Manage payable invoices and maintain cash flow controls for timely payments.

  • Drive monthly payroll accounting accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.

  • Prepare accruals, prepayments, and other month-end journals as necessary.

  • Investigate and resolve intercompany balance discrepancies promptly.


  • Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the production of monthly and annual reports, ensuring adherence to group and regulatory policies.

  • Provide valuable insights into P&L and balance sheet figures, identifying potential issues and offering solutions.

  • Prepare local ledger data for reporting requirements and conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations.


  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Lead efforts in preparing statutory accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Propose simplified solutions to uphold group policies and protect our assets effectively.


  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the Local Managing Director and the local team.


  • Ad Hoc Tasks:
  • Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as directed by the Financial Accounting Manager and Financial Accounting Director.

Are you an accomplished Financial Accountant, specilaising in Austrian GAAP with native or professional German language skills?, Bring at least 10 years of experience in transactional finance roles to the table.

  • Possess a strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and Austrian GAAP regulations.

  • German language skills, verbal and written (native or professional)

  • Excel in using Austrian ERP (BMD - NCS) and job costing tools (POS-Project).

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Communicate effectively and foster strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Showcase your experience in implementing new processes successfully.


  • Preferable:
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance and SAP BPC or similar reporting tools.
