Full Job Description

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of our Group's financial position. You will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting team, contributing to the preparation and review of financial statements, management accounts, and regulatory returns.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide support to the Financial Reporting team.

  • Prepare sophisticated working papers and post financial journals.

  • Manage intercompany settlements and the preparation of management accounts.

  • Chair monthly entity review meetings and prepare relevant financial numbers.

  • Prepare and understand financial controls and statutory accounts.

  • Review tagging of statutory accounts and manage the production of regulatory returns.

  • Identify efficiencies in processes and assist in implementing changes.

  • Support consolidation journals, analytical reviews, and ad-hoc projects and investigations.

    People Management: You may be required to manage at least one trainee financial accountant.

  • Job Knowledge: Strong process and accounting knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • SJP Business Expertise: Understanding of the SJP model and the interaction of the Group's legal entities.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to challenge processes and outcomes, apply judgment, and suggest improvements.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and proactively seek development opportunities., Must be a qualified accountant or in the later stages of a professional accounting qualification, with agreement to the terms set out in the SJP "Study Support Agreement" if relevant.
