Full Job Description

In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in the success of eduMe. You'll oversee all aspects of our accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow effectively, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations in both the UK and the US. You'll be a key business partner to the leadership team, providing valuable financial insights and analysis to support strategic direction of the company.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing (UK/US).

  • With support from Outsourcing, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including reconciliations, under US GAAP and UK GAAP.

  • Support the tax compliance process for both the UK and US entities, including data gathering, preparation of tax schedules, and communication with tax advisors.

  • Manage the preparation and review of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.

  • Implement and maintain effective treasury management practices to optimise cash flow and mitigate financial risks.

  • Prepare and submit statutory returns to Companies House and other US regulatory bodies as required.

  • Manage and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

  • Utilise accounting software (Xero) and other relevant financial systems to streamline processes.

  • Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards (US GAAP, UK GAAP) and tax regulations in both the UK and the US.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed., 33 days of paid leave a year, with the option to carry 5 days over

    Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years post qualified experience, preferably within a startup environment.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations (UK and US), and internal controls.

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing (UK/US), and general ledger maintenance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Xero.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting software and systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Nice to have, systems experience using: ZoomInfo, Salesloft, Salesforce, Catalyst, OnPay, Expensify, Moss, and Notion.
