Full Job Description

Finance System maintenance and support:

  • Take ownership of day-to-day system support and administration tasks, ensuring adherence to SLAs and delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Lead initial troubleshooting efforts to investigate system issues, exercising judgement to resolve or escalate as necessary.

  • Assume responsibility for setting up user access and permissions.

  • Support the Finance Systems Manager in the development, maintenance, and administration of OneFinance forms and business processes.


  • Finance System development and continuous improvement:
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement through system improvements and automation.

  • Assist in systems testing following supplier upgrades, identify issues and potential solutions, working with the supplier to resolve issues.

  • Work alongside the Senior Finance Systems Administrator to establish support desk KPI's and subsequent reporting.


  • Business Partnering:
  • Cultivate business relationships with colleagues, suppliers and system users to elevate user experience, providing guidance and advice.

  • Actively participate in supplier groups, leveraging insights to inform system enhancements.


  • Training/facilitation:
  • Identify training needs and develop comprehensive content to address skill gaps.

  • Provide effective training and support to end-users.


  • Audit and compliance:
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues to support the provision of information for audits and other due diligence compliance requirements.

  • Conduct regular system audits, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure data consistency and process compliance.

    We are looking for a proactive individual who will ideally bring the following:


  • Experience of being the first point of contact of systems support helpdesk.

  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining and developing systems including system administration and support, user management, system monitoring, and security administration.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting system issues and implementing effective solutions.

  • Experience with system testing upgrades, and implementation of process enhancements.

  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating with colleagues to drive system and process improvements.

  • Advanced excel skills and knowledge of BI reporting including ETL's, SQL and Data Warehouse would also be advantageous, but this is not essential.

    Our Finance department is looking to appoint a Finance Systems Administrator to join the team, and this role will be pivotal in the operation and advancement of our new 'OneFinance' system and associated software.

    As a Finance Systems Administrator, you will be entrusted with decision making, advising stakeholders, evaluating processes and troubleshooting to ensure seamless operations, and drive continuous improvement., Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases.
