Full Job Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for assisting the FC, providing key financial data to aid the management team in decision making, supporting month-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and audit. You will work collaboratively whilst challenging what we do daily to ensure we are always improving.

The position of Finance Manager has three clear purposes:

  • To ensure the business reports accurate financial management information on a timely basis to the SLT, Group and external stakeholders.


  • To take ownership of the integrity of the information within the general ledger, the payroll processing cycle, intercompany recharges/reconciliations and the balance sheet reconciliation process.


  • To assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of finance and reporting as required., To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts-preparing and posting monthly/quarterly journals such as accruals, prepayments, depreciation, corporation tax provision.

  • To assist in the preparation of submissions and reports to Group Finance - preparing standard reports and uploading information to consolidation system from Trial Balance.

  • To be the primary contact for payroll - liaising with HR and external payroll agency re payroll processing, and answering any employee queries.

  • To be the primary contact for intercompany invoicing and reconciliation.

  • To maintain accurate and robust balance sheet reconciliations.

  • To support the Financial Controller with all statutory reporting requirements including VAT and tax filings as well as annual Statutory accounts and the audit process.

  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and lead on periodic verification process.

  • Supporting the FC and MD with ad hoc analysis, reporting and data as required.

  • Supporting other Finance team members as required, e.g authorising payments, assisting with account code queries etc.

    Part qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA.

  • Bookkeeping / accounting experience required (minimum 2yrs) - must have been in a general ledger role and have a good understanding of month end processes.

  • Some knowledge of payroll or dealing with payroll bureau an advantage.

  • Good working knowledge of VAT preferred.

  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Advanced Excel. Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting an advantage.

  • Strong organisation skills - able to prioritise and plan work load.

  • Ability to analyse data, interpret & relay information in a clear and concise manner.
