Full Job Description

The role will have the responsibility to centralise, review and report all insurer related activities across the entities within the Bspoke Group. The purpose is to maintain a strict level of Financial control across all insurer related activities in the Bspoke Group through consistent process and procedure application.,

  • Receipt and processing of third party Finance bordereaux as required


  • Reporting and payment of premium and claims bordereaux to all Capacity Providers in the Bspoke Group


  • Provide management and ongoing liquidity of claims floats provided by insurers to entities within the Bspoke Group


  • Provide oversight and management of claims floats provided to third parties and provide input on associated reconciliations received from third parties


  • Produce and maintain reconciliation of all Insurer related balances within the Group including insurer trust accounts and IBA reconciliations


  • Maintain oversight of IBA liquidity across the Bspoke Group in accordance with insurer TOBA's through production of weekly cash sweeps


  • Ownership of the insurance balance sheet for entities across the Bspoke Group


  • Assist the Financial Controller in the maintenance of compliance with CASS in respect of compliance with insurer risk transfer requirements.


  • Production and maintenance of reconciliations between broking/Mi systems, financial ledger and monthly bordereaux for all systems and entities in the Bspoke Group


  • Production of insurer based payments and reconciliation of insurer receipts on a monthly basis for all entities across the Group


  • Liaise with external insurer contacts to resolve insurer bordereaux and reconciliation queries


  • Liaise with other functions in the Business to resolve insurer premium and claims related queries


  • Focus on continuous improvement to streamline and automate current processes.


  • Support the Financial Controller where required by providing ad hoc insurer analysis


  • Other tasks as required in order that the department runs efficiently - e.g. cover for other members of staff, and additional tasks as required by the Financial Accountant/ Financial Controller.


  • OTHER DUTIES
  • Develops and improves accounting practices and internal control processes. Maintain documentation of accounting policies, systems and procedures.


  • Contributes to the achievement of the company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial control.


  • Monitors, reviews and coordinates the establishment, documentation, maintenance and update of all accounting systems.


  • Re-enforces the vision and values of the Company through appropriate behaviours and actions.


  • Assists with other related duties within the business as and when required.

  • Ability to plan and prioritise own activities effectively


  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure


  • Demonstrate good communication skills both oral and written in reconciliations and analyses.


  • Attention to detail and application of controls on quality and content of output.


  • Moderate to high level of knowledge of Microsoft packages - notably Excel


  • Ability to write in plain English and avoid unnecessary use of jargon


  • An ability to work accurately and consistently


  • An ability to work as part of a team or independently as required


  • An ability to communicate effectively with customers including other Company members


  • A requirement to develop a strong working knowledge of internal procedures and standards and key regulatory requirements.


  • Sound judgement skills and a genuine interest in business.
