Field Support Operative - Motor Vehicle Technician & Telecom Engineering

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, organised, and conscientious, Field Support Operative in the North East of England to join our growing telecommunications company.

This opportunity is for candidates in the vehicle mechanic/technician industry who are seeking a more varied career involving with maintenance/repair of vehicles but also supporting the telecom engineering industry and learning new skills.

Candidate should have a strong background and good experience in vehicle mechanics/repair/mobile mechanics, and the role will be both field and office/warehouse based at our depot in Durham and throughout the North of England.

Field based duties will be mainly around the North East of England and occasionally around the North West with possible overnight stays, however, overnight stays will be very minimal.

Reporting to the Stores & Asset Manager, duties include, but are not limited to:

- Maintenance of vehicle fleet and supporting fleet manager to ensure company fleet has minimal downtime and cost efficiency

- Transportation of civil engineering/telecommunications tooling, equipment, materials, and vehicles to and from various locations around the North of England, including delivery and collection of vehicles to garages and engineers

- Telecom and Civil engineering work area set up support in the field ensuring safe site set up such as barriers/cones

- Ensuring vehicle and storage areas are maintained and left in a secure, safe, and tidy condition.

- Ensuring waste is disposed of accordingly to environmental policy and legislation

Ability to tow trailers and maximum of 3 points on driving licence is essential for this role. Please do not apply if you are unable to tow trailers up to 3.5t Gross Vehicle Weight and have more than 3 penalty points on driving licence.

Full-time/permanent PAYE (£31,000 - £35,000 exc. Overtime)

Vehicle, fuel card, uniform and NRSWA unit 2 Street Works and any other relevant telecommunications industry accreditations provided.

Applicants must be very health and safety conscious with excellent road safety awareness.

Basic DBS check and references required.
