Full Job Description

  • Office based in a rural location on the Mendip Hills but with the flexibility to work from home 25%-50% of the week

  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata for part time fixed term contracts)

  • 29.6 hours per week

  • Fixed term until 31.03.2025


  • What will I be doing?

    We're working to improve the lives of farmers and the communities of the Mendip Hills - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
  • Keeping financial spreadsheets up-to-date.

  • Act as the central point of contact for Mendip Hills Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) grant programme.

  • Preparing and submitting financial monitoring forms to Defra.

  • Using the Somerset Council finance system to raise orders and invoices.

  • Arranging the Local Assessment Panel meetings with times, dates, agendas and taking notes during the meeting.

  • Have proven experience in financial accounting

  • Have proven experience of administering an office

  • Have previous experience of financially supporting and promoting a grants programme
