Family Support Worker

32.50 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Temporary - 1 year

Grade 5 - SCP 15 - 22

£27,803 - £31,364

Start date: September 2024

Kingsway Primary School - part of the Minster Trust for Education - are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Family Support Worker to start in September 2024. The successful candidate is to work alongside the SENCo, Designated Safeguarding Leads and Attendance Lead to provide holistic support for children and their families. They will be passionate about children's emotional well-being, innovative and solution focused with the skills required to liaise effectively with parents and professionals to ensure that every child has the best start in life.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be at the forefront of developing our pastoral package. Their work will focus on preventative and early intervention activities and assist in tackling underachievement by developing relationships with parents and children in school - working collaboratively with them to help overcome barriers to learning and raise their aspirations. They will have the confidence to work in partnership with senior leaders as well as liaise with external agencies at all levels.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the successful candidate will be attending children protection conferences and completing detailed logs and reports. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with Keeping Children Safe requirements and will have experience in safeguarding practice and policy across a school setting.

  • Experience of leading on pastoral programs.

  • Confident in the use of information technology and is an excellent communicator.

  • Committed to professional development through purposeful CPD opportunities.
