Full Job Description

As our Facilities Co-ordinator you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Botnar Research Centre (BRC). You will be the primary point of contact for engineers, contractors and other service providers, escorting and enabling their functions within the facility. You will have responsibility for enabling the purchase, validation, maintenance, calibration and servicing of specialist scientific equipment. You will assist the technical team and managers with the disposal, purchase, validation and installation of building and laboratory equipment, ensure that building and equipment faults are responded to in a timely manner by administering the BRC job request system as well as maintain a high standard of health and safety service to the building and laboratory users.

We are seeking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic Botnar Facilities Co-ordinator to join our friendly facilities team at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), University of Oxford., You will be educated to GCSE (Grade A-C) English, Maths, and one science subject, or an equivalent level of knowledge and relevant experience. Experience in reviewing and signing service reports for equipment, experience prioritising tasks, managing and planning own work schedules and experience following SOP's accurately with an eye for detail are essential. Previous experience of working in a research laboratory environment, knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and implementation in practice and knowledge of laboratory equipment and systems such as compressed gasses, purified water, autoclaves and fume extraction facilities are desirable.
