Full Job Description

  • To work closely with the Class Teacher by following planning in order to deliver it in a way that enables children to learn

  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with the children

  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with parents in a way that values parental involvement and to keep the Classroom Teacher informed, at all times, of any queries/concerns/comments

  • To assist in observing and assessing both children's development and progress and where required to keep accurate records of their achievements

  • To provide a service that respects both children's life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race and religion

  • To see that stock and equipment is kept clean, clearly labelled, tidily stored, well cared for and economically used

  • To work effectively as part of a team

  • To support in Games/PE

  • To work within the agreed framework of policies and procedures set out within the school

  • To attend meetings/events as appropriate (this may involve out of school hours)

  • To take part in day-to-day administration and record keeping

  • To support the class teacher in preparing resources, administration and display work

  • Other activities/duties that the Headmaster deems necessary, The post holder's responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils and young persons, for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact, will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School's Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy at all times. If in the course of carrying out their duties, the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of pupils in the school s/he must report any concerns to one of the School's Designated Safeguarding Leads or to the Head.
