Full Job Description

From minor works to major infrastructure projects, Balfour Beatty Major Projects Division has a proven record of building excellence. Using our broad range of experience and expertise, we deliver cost-efficient service packages, tailor-made for our customers. We provide the financial security and broad resources of a major contractor, while using our regional teams to provide services with a local focus., The Senior Estimator, will be supporting the Managing Estimator to develop estimates from 1^st Principles associated with the Balfour Beatty portion of the Sizewell C Civil Works Alliance.

  • Undertake estimates in accordance with the companies policies and procedures.

  • Review customers drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.

  • Oversee and/or interrogate design options and value solutions and, if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles.

  • Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities including developing the risk evaluation from pricing/budgetary point of view.

  • Liaise with project team & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.

    You will have the following:

  • Civils/Infrastructures projects background.

  • Experience in estimating on marine and tunnelling operations a major advantage.

  • Chartered e.g. ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB.

  • Candy estimating software knowledge.

  • Reasonable understanding of the principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning.
