Autism Anglia's Services provides specialist support to autistic individuals across a range of services including Residential, Supported Living services and Doucecroft School, based across Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk.

Autism Anglia provides support to those within the autism Spectrum, some with additional Learning Disabilities. Our holistic approach encourages adults and Children to develop new skills, create opportunities, build confidence, and live more independently in the community.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Estates & Facilities Manager based in Colchester, Essex. Our Head Office is in the heart of Colchester's City Centre. The successful Estates & Facilities Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing all our sites across Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk so the ability to travel to these locations is essential.

The facilities management will include both planned and reactive works, ensuring the compliance of all properties with relevant legal requirements including health and safety standards.

The role:

  • Establish and maintain programs of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure that reactive works are kept to a minimum and that forward financial planning to deliver the programs of works is as accurate as possible.

  • Provide supervision to the team including caretakers, site maintenance staff.

  • Ensure effective systems and procedures are in place to ensure Autism Anglia remains in compliance.

  • Oversee the management of contractors, ensuring the standards of work completed are to the highest standard.

  • Develop and manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders with clear communication on timelines and progress made.

  • Maintain and review jobs requested and prioritise weekly tasks to caretakers with the Facilities Assistant Manager.

  • Ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and with the charity's policies and procedures.

  • Lead the health and safety committee on behalf of Autism Anglia.

  • Undertake administrative and general operational tasks as required.

    Hold a current NEBOSH Qualification (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) ideally to Level 6

  • Hold a current COSHH Qualification (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)

  • Offer proven people management skills with a Management Qualification

  • Offer excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Offer previous experience in setting and monitoring income and expenditure budgets.

  • Previous experience in a health and social care setting is highly advantageous.
