Full Job Description

Role purpose

This role has been created to ensure that Vodafone continues to deliver high-quality ESG disclosures, and meet new and evolving ESG requirements.
The regulatory landscape for corporate ESG is constantly evolving, placing increasing demands on Sustainability and Reporting teams to deliver against external requirements. At Vodafone we have already invested heavily in our ESG data and reporting capabilities, and this role will ensure that we continue to deliver at pace against regulation including CSRD.

Reporting into the ESG Operations & Reporting Lead, the successful candidate will design and implement a strategy and pathway to close gaps against the mandatory CSRD reporting requirements by 2026. Responsibilities will also include monitoring and assessing upcoming ESG standards and legislation, and the impact that it will have on Vodafone's own strategy.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across business functions and markets globally, as well as colleagues in the Group Sustainable Team and the Group ESG Data team. They will also have a close working relationship with our Policy and Advocacy team to gain insights on forthcoming ESG requirements coming from policymakers.

The role sits in our Group Sustainable Business Team which sets the strategy on sustainability globally for Vodafone, and partners with business units globally to deliver against this strategy.

What you'll do

  • CSRD business partnering with functions and markets globally to achieve compliance against requirements.

  • Cross functional stakeholder management to identify CSRD requirement gaps in business functions, and design and implement strategy to close gaps.

  • Manage external advisors and contractors to determine critical priorities for CSRD alignment and timeline for delivery.

  • Establish and maintain performance management programme to monitor and report on targets and glidepaths.

  • Produce regular management reporting on level of compliance with ESG regulation.

  • Manage and monitor risk to compliance, including escalation through relevant governance forums and development of recommended mitigation actions in collaboration with the relevant business owners


  • Who you are

  • Knowledge of ESG regulation.

  • Experience in sustainability strategy design and implementation., including developing KPIs.

  • Advanced project management skills to steer strategies across multi - functional workstreams.

  • Experience in change management in a multi-national and cultural environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to engage, manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
