2 x Brand New Roles - Suffolk Area - Hybrid Working

The UK has set out its ambition to be net zero by 2050 and the energy industry is responding - together we are building a cleaner, greener Britain.

Fancy working on one of the biggest Net Zero electrification projects in the UK to be part of this?
You'll be working on a project to bring an additional 6GW of renewable to the UK, with over 180 km of new cable to transmit this. The project covers substation, cables, civils and Overhead Lines.
Your role will be to manage projects to time and budget, hitting key milestones along the way in order to ensure success of the wider portfolio and dependant activities.

Our project is based around the Suffolk area and continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

About You

In this case, we're looking for someone who has, Managing one or more projects as part of a wider portfolio, successful delivery requires a true cross discipline coordination, collaboration and unity in decision making approach in order to ensure the project maintains its path towards connecting offshore wind into the Grid by 2030.

The particular portfolio you will be working on is a long linear project with multiple disciplines required to deliver a project of this scale, the project consists of various substation works, underground cable and overhead lines. This is an exiting and dynamic project moving at pace to achieve key net zero targets.

You will be required to quickly get projects back on track if they slow down, mindful that any slippages will adversely affect the portfolio as a whole.

You'll employing a robust risk management process whenever a project requires changes, ensuring the project remains within governance.

You'll ensure you hit your forecasted budgets to monthly, yearly and completion deadlines and targets.

Ensuring internal and contractor compliance with Health & Safety, CDM & Environmental legislation you'll also adherence National Grid SHES standards,.

You'll join a team that fosters an environment where everyone, regardless of seniority, feels able to share their concerns.

You'll lead in a way that ensures we deliver what we promised, and that everyone in your team is motivated to deliver results in the right way.

Promoting a collaborative environment with the supply chain, including principal contractors; suppliers of services and plant; customers; landowners; and local authorities, residents and businesses, you'll manage and maintain excellent relationships

Acting with fairness and honesty in your communications you will share your learnings, and celebrate your team's successes.

Depending on experience and industry knowledge, you'll mentor members of the team and support their ongoing professional development whilst being proactive about furthering your industry knowledge by developing your own network of contacts across the business to ensure you are exposed to different ways of working and thinking to the team and yourself.

Experience of a busy, buoyant environment with lots of variety and change. You'll need to be resilient, driven, and good at prioritising and managing your own time, particularly when the unexpected crops up.

  • Excellent teamwork - so you'll have to be good with people too. You make decisions based on the greater good and carefully consider the communities you are working in.

  • Experience of project management or engineering would be desirable but not essential.

    A competitive starting salary between £50,000 - £70,000 dependent on capability.

    A market supplement of £4,500 is also available together with a hybrid or fully electric vehicle.

    As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
