Full Job Description

Do you want to earn a full degree and perform meaningful work?
If so, take a look at this rare opportunity…
We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
This is your chance to work and gain a full environmental degree from the prestigious University of Brighton. Earn as you learn over the 5 year journey. You'll acquire deep knowledge and build experience that will set you up for a thriving career here at South East Water.
You don't need to have any previous experience. You will have Science A-Levels or equivalent, keen to build a career in environmental science and you're committed to study and obtain a 5-year Environment Practitioner Degree alongside your work. This apprenticeship will sit in our Environment Performance team or our Catchment team, depending on which one you are most suited to.
Joining our Environmental Performance team means that you'll get involved with a wide range of activities and environmental assessment to assist with South East Water's operational work. The role will help to support the wider work undertaken by our in-house environmental team covering areas such as biodiversity assessment, reactive incidents on our operational sites, environmental permitting and auditing. This covers a combination of both office and site based work.
As part of our Environment Catchment Team you'll work on investigation activities associated with South East Water's obligations under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP). This is a monitoring programme that covers both surface water and groundwater source. We work with farmers and landowners to tackle pollution at its source so that we can improve the health of our rivers and groundwater bodies.
