Full Job Description

The Musco Entertainment Engineering Team is currently seeking a Entertainment Lighting Controls Technician to work out of our UK office. This position will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced lighting control systems that elevate the spectator experience in sports arenas, stadiums, and entertainment venues. You will work closely with our clients, technical teams, and on-site staff to ensure the seamless operation of our lighting control solutions. More details about the role are below.

What you will do as a Entertainment Lighting Controls Technician:

  • System Design and Implementation: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design lighting control systems that meet the specific needs of each venue, ensuring optimal performance and visual impact.

  • Electrical and Electronic Expertise: Utilize your strong electrical and electronic knowledge to install and configure lighting control equipment, including fixtures, controllers, and networking components.

  • Fault-finding and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to lighting control systems promptly, both remotely and on-site.

  • IT Networking: Work with clients and internal teams to configure and manage IT network infrastructure to facilitate seamless communication between lighting control systems and other venue technologies.

  • Site Visits and Travel: Regular travel will be necessary to venues across the UK and Europe for system installation, maintenance, and client support.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures, along with operation and maintenance manuals.

  • Training: Provide training to on-site staff and clients on the operation and maintenance of lighting control systems.

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related entertainment technical field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of varied experience in the entertainment industry, with a focus on lighting control systems in theatre, music, or TV production.

  • Proficiency in fault-finding and diagnosing issues with lighting control equipment.

  • Strong IT networking skills to ensure reliable system connectivity.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to various sites in the UK and Europe as needed.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team, under pressure and to adapt to changing project requirements.


  • Other Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Office suite, Adobe Suite, 2d and 3d CAD, Sketchup, pre visualisation software

  • Audio and Video equipment and related technologies.

  • Lighting programming. Pharos/Mosaic, GrandMA2+3, Chamsys, Wholehog, Media servers

  • Programming languages. Javascript, LUA, HTML
