You will have high expectations of yourself and your students, and a proven track record delivering engaging and innovative lessons. You will also be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school and its community. We recently celebrated World Book Day across the school with a number of activities for our students to engage in.

The English team at QKA are an award-winning department with an ambitious and aspiring team. the team have been awarded the TES English Team of the Year 2021 award for their delivery of a 'multi-layered approach in bringing texts to life for students, as well as the uniqueness of the curriculum and the ways in which diversity in literature is strongly embedded' (TES Judges). The team were also shortlisted for the Bernice McCabe Award and were highly commended by the PTI for their work on the growth in their KS5 provision and social mobility.

The department is well resourced and led by fantastic practitioners and we are looking to appoint a colleague who shares their enthusiasm and unwavering determination to help every student enjoy, achieve and progress in English from KS3 through to KS5. In Sixth Form, A Level English Language and A Level English Literature are delivered and in both subjects students make well above average progress given their starting points.
