Full Job Description

To ensure effective support is provided to the engineering team with specific regards to Wheelsets, fuel, supplier task management and engineering resource., Key Expectations of the Job Holder

  • Support the management of wheelset contracts with key suppliers. Attending contract review meetings, ensuring technical query approved by the technical team in a timely manner, highlighting risks and issues, ensuring actions and deliverables are progress tracked.

  • Management of vehicle tyre turn provision including record of spend and accurate records of wheelsize data.

  • Effectively liaise with key suppliers and stakeholders ensure delivery of overhauled wheelsets to fulfil forecasted plan and maintain vehicle availability. Proactively review these requirements on a yearly, quarterly, and monthly basis.

  • Adhering to Procurement procedures support the creation of tender documents relating to Engineering Activities

  • Monitor wheelset scrap material and proactively liaise with Finance to create and progress disposal notices on a quarterly basis.

  • Control Wheelsets and Wheelset related materials to ensure stock levels and wheelset data are accurately represented within the designated DRS systems to approved processes. Ensure wheelsets for DRS fleet are sourced from industry certificated suppliers.

  • Lead on periodic Internal Audits of Wheelset data held within Maximo reporting to relevant stakeholders.

  • Co-ordinate and conduct routine stocktakes on wheelset materials and other items as required in line with financial practices including year-end requirements from our third-party suppliers.

  • Provide super user level support to the Engineering team on the Company document management system.

  • Provide support to the engineering team in relation to Maximo Administration including but not limited to data loader and reporting.

  • Manage continuity of Fleet liveries and ensure timely rollout of new or revised liveries adhering to Sub Contractor guidelines for working on a DRS depot.

  • Take responsibility for and lead on the operation of the Fuel Management System and ensure month end figures for fuel and oil are accurate.

  • Manage and continually improve the service level and response times for any requests covered by the Engineering Support monitored inbox.

    Core Subject GCSE'S Grade A-C or equivalent

  • NVQ and or qualification in relevant field

  • Passed in Personal Track Safety (PTS)

  • IT skills: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Microsoft Visio, Sage, Q Pulse

  • Core Training: Fire, Manual Handling

  • Systems Training: Sage/ERP. Q-Pulse

  • On the job: Wheelset overhaul processes
