Full Job Description

To provide comprehensive technical administrative duties and assist in a range of project management functions to ensure the efficient, effective, and timely delivery of construction and engineering projects.

The post-holder is required to undertake complex administrative duties including draftsman and estimating tasks to ensure the continuity of service delivery to meet and exceed industry quality standards.

Accountabilities:

- Be a key point of contact in responding to a range of enquiries from internal and external stakeholders including customers, contracting services and the wider workforce, to provide key process information and associated documentation in a professional timely manner.

- Produce, review, and interpret information and documentation against a variety of technical standards and criteria, using a range of applications and formats, to support in the design and delivery of commercial electrical system projects.

- Collect, analyse, validate and disseminate a range of data and information including design specifications, project costings, and resource scheduling to ensure projects are delivered on time and in full to the required standards.

- Support the Contracts Manager, Project Coordinator, and senior management team in the project management of commercial electrical system projects, including site visits to constriction projects across the UK with overnight stays as necessary.

- Develop and maintain manual and electronic systems, including formal record keeping and file management, to ensure data confidentiality, accuracy, and security. This may include supporting the development of the wider workforce in any operational or technical issues relating to systems.

- Engage in and complete a range of learning and development activities including undertaking further accredited training and qualifications to effectively understand and be able to apply electrical engineering principles and techniques under the guidance and supervision of experienced engineers.

Linx Electrical Ltd are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to become an Engineering Services Trainee Technical Assistant with us. In this development role you will gain a fully funded level 4 or higher qualification in an Engineering related field whilst working with us to gain experience in our business by supporting the technical administration and project delivery of commercial electrical systems projects.

Ideally suited to someone leaving or having recently left full time education, we are looking for a candidate who is driven to continue their education within the workplace under the guidance of our experienced contracts and projects team. The right candidate will be interested in Computer Aided Design with a strong desire and commitment to further develop their career in Electrical engineering within a dynamic and rapidly expanding business., Fully funded Level 4 Accredited HNC in an Engineering related field (Specialisation to be determined according to the skills and interests of preferred candidate)., BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment and/or an accredited equivalent and/or A-Level or higher qualifications



  • - GSCE English and Maths at grade C/grade 4

  • Other qualifications may include accredited L3 qualifications in a related subject, accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma, International qualifications equivalent to a level 3 accreditation from a recognised education institution. Demonstrable experience will be considered where the preferred candidate does not hold the required qualifications.


  • - Knowledge and proficiency in a range of ICT packages including Word, Excel, Adobe and other Microsoft Office Applications

    - The ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to resolve and escalate complex issues accordingly and in a professional manner.

    - The ability to plan and manage own workload, reprioritising tasks according to need and urgency, to ensure timely and accurate delivery aligned to the objectives of Linx Electrical Ltd.

    - As this is a development role, the preferred candidate must be able to undertake further self-directed study in an online/virtual learning environment as well as classroom based learning to achieve further accreditation at Higher National Certificate Level 4 or above in Construction and Building Services.

    Desirable Criteria:

    - Experience of providing technical and/or administrative support services and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

    - Knowledge of commercial electrical system projects, building and construction projects or similar achieved through educational or work experience endeavours.

    - Knowledge and experience of a Computer Aided Design (CAD) or a strong interest in the development of knowledge and skill in this area.
