Full Job Description

As an Engineering Project Manager at NGM, you will be responsible for providing robust and safe metering systems for our customers within an allocated geographical area (East Mids, East Anglia, West Mids or North East).

You will achieve this by overseeing the co-ordination of various engineering field activities with multiple stakeholders. This will include undertaking end consumer meetings, liaising within NGM's service partners and asset suppliers and working closely with your colleagues in the Engineering Team and within other areas of NGM.

You will be dynamic and adaptive to managing multiple projects within your area to meet our customer needs by providing the most suitable engineering solution. You will provide clear scopes of work and will order materials in line with Metering processes and contracts.

You will possess strong project management and communication skills and promote team working; forming relationships with external parties will be a key part of your role. You will be a role model for all elements of safety and you will ensure NGM's Safety, Health and Environmental objectives are delivered.

You will look ahead and suggest future investment and innovation opportunities for our operational metering portfolio to influence positive change whilst also being responsible for evaluating investment requirements against condition, risk and whole life costs of an installation.

Within this role you will be required to participate in a 24/7 standby rota.

To be successful in this role it would be beneficial for you to have sound knowledge on MP, IP, HP gas installations, a good understanding of UK legislation and knowledge of the wider gas industry standards applicable and to hold or have held appropriate 'Gas Safe' and SCO qualifications. Experience in the design of modules and commissioning of Metering Assets is essential.

You must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel within your geographic area as well as occasionally outside of designated area. NGM is a home based organisation, however we expect our teams to meet face to face multiple times a year at various geographic locations.

It would be advantageous for you to have compliance knowledge against the PSSR regulation and IGEM GL/5 initiator experience.

We are proud of our role at the heart of Britain's energy system. Our skilled colleagues bring gas to around 23m homes and over 200,000 businesses, including heavy industries and power stations that keep the lights on, all whilst enabling the transition of our network to hydrogen.

We are a flexible working organisation. At National Gas, we are committed to building a workforce that represents the communities we serve. We celebrate the different experiences our colleagues bring to our organisation, and strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds to apply.

Studies suggest that women tend to apply only if they meet 100% of the criteria. If you resonate with our mission and meet a good portion of our requirements, we encourage you to apply.

Recognised as one of the UK's Best Workplaces (2023) today by Great Place to Work® UK! National Gas Metering has officially ranked 53rd among Medium sized organisations on the list, this is in addition to being ranked 33rd UK's Best Places to Work for Well Being. We have also won gold in recent industry awards.

The closing date is 9th June, although in some cases I'll close the ad early.
