An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Practitionerto join the Oxfordshire Community Urgent Care Service team., As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will work autonomously to provide a high-quality service to patients attending the Urgent Care Service.

This includes Minor Injury Units, Out of Hours Service and Hospital at Home. They will foster excellent working relationships within the team., An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Practitionerto join the Oxfordshire Community Urgent Care Service team.

Wea re seeking aregistered Nurse or Paramedic with the desire to autonomously assess and treatpatients presenting with Minor Injuries and Minor Illness.

You will haveexcellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills along with the abilityto lead together with a passion to provide patient centred care.

TheTrust / Ward / Department

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mentalhealth and social care across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire,Bath and North East Somerset.

Their services are delivered across the communityin hospitals, clinics, community bases and in patients homes, as they focus ondelivering care as close to home as possible.

TheCommunity Minor Injury Units are based in Abingdon on Thames, Witney and Henleyon Thames, there is also a First Aid Unit in Bicester.

The MIUs see approximately 4000 patientsacross the service per month, making a real difference, providing care closerto home and avoiding admission to hospital wherever possible and appropriate.

TheGP OoH Service provides support in primary care for urgent referrals with minorillness via 111 when GP surgeries are closed.

TheResponsibilities

If you are successful in yourapplication to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on theresponsibilities outlined below as well as those not included here, calltoday to discuss further :

Clinicalmanagement of patients presenting to Urgent Care (MIU / OoHs)

Aspart of a multidisciplinary team you will work autonomously to provide ahigh-quality service to patients attending the Urgent Care Service.

Thisincludes Minor Injury Units, Out of Hours Service and Hospital at Home.

Tofoster excellent working relationships within the team.

Responsibilityto triage, assess, treat, discharge and refer to the most appropriate specialtyor practitioner in order to meet the patients needs.

Tosupport a learning environment that fosters a culture of clinical expertise andact as a role model to learners attached to the unit;

engage in teaching andsupervision of junior staff and students

Towork within the agreed clinical guidelines and the scope of professionalpractice.

Totake responsibility for the smooth running of the unit on a shift basis.

Tocontribute to organisational development and change as necessary

Tocontribute to the organisational management of the service on issues such ashealth and safety, use of supplies and following local policy regardingincident reporting.

We are seeking a registered Nurse or Paramedic with the desire to autonomously assess and treat patients presenting with Minor Injuries and Minor Illness.

You will have excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills along with the ability to lead together with a passion to provide patient centred care., Relevantdegree or equivalent

Currentrelevant professional registration

Minimum 2years post-qualification experience

Enhanced DBS

UK / NHSexperience

Computerliterate with experience of working with Microsoft Office, Essential
