The Role:

Are you an experienced Social Worker with an AMHP qualification? Would you like to work in an Emergency Duty Social Work service providing advice and support for vulnerable adults experiencing social crisis, safeguarding and/or welfare concerns, and possible mental health difficulties in a range of settings?

In the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea we are looking to recruit an AMHP/Social Worker for our Emergency Duty Social Work service which serves three boroughs, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham. The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) comprises of 9 Qualified Social Workers/AMHPs and 1 Triage officer working out of hours on a shift basis during evenings and weekends. There is an on-call manager available 7 days a week and you will be well supported by the team structure and management in place.

The remit of the team is to provide a holistic service out of hours and covers emergencies in relation to Adults, Older Adults and Mental Health Act requests. EDT works closely with AMHP Services in the respective Boroughs and other stakeholders due to shared interests and there is access to a range of training including AMHP related work and legal updates.

About You:

Must hold relevant Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England (SWE).

Must have a good working knowledge of issues affecting all client groups.

Ability to work under own initiative with an on-call manager for telephone advice and support.

Good risk assessment skills.

Experience of dealing with people in crisis.

Knowledge of pertinent legislation working with vulnerable adults including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and an awareness of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984.
