Full Job Description

1. The post holder will be ultimately responsible for managing and carrying out maintenance programs of medium to high priority medical devices portfolio across the Trust, and when needed, across various customers' sites.
2. The post holder will be expected to deliver maintenance in accordance with the department quality management system/procedures and achieve maintenance targets to meet CQC regulations.
3. The post holder will be responsible for solving issues related to medical devices' IT connectivity and medical systems' data cleansing & secure deletion.
4. The post holder will be expected to support other junior staff in areas of expertise to achieve the targets of the maintenance project that the post holder is responsible for.
5. The post holder will be expected to make contributions to the policies and procedures used by the Section, the development of the services provided, and their efficiency, and to the maintenance of the Section's Quality System.

1. The organisation is responsible for providing a wide ranging of medical devices technical and maintenance services to St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The services provided include technical input into the devices selection, commission of new medical devices and acceptance tests prior to devices being put into clinical use, deploy and medical devices into clinical areas, implement planned preventative maintenance program, repair of faulty devices, resolve medical devices IT connectivity faults, negotiating cost effective contracts for maintenance by suppliers, provide technical test reports on incidents involving medical devices, and maintaining a database of the Trust medical devices as well as external healthcare organisations.

1. The services cover a very wide variety of medical devices, ranging from relatively simple devices such as vital signs monitor to very complex systems such as Anaesthetic and Dialysis machines.

1. As well as providing services at St George's, the Section has a portfolio of external contracts for the maintenance and repair of medical devices in other hospitals and clinics, nearby and further afield.

Main Duties/Key Results Areas:

To repair and maintain electrical/electronic and electromechanical medical equipment. The postholder is required to build the experience (within the first year of employment) to cover wide range of equipment including those used in high demand areas such as operating theatres, recovery units, critical care units, accidents and emergency department, endoscopy and other specialist and general wards and departments in the hospital.

Working with IT experts from Medical Physics as well as device manufacturers on commissioning of connected medical devices.
