Full Job Description

Our EYFS classroom is based in a small nurturing self-contained environment, complete with real kitchen and mud kitchen. We seek an experienced, dynamic and caring Early Years Practitioner to provide support for learning in our EYFS class.

The role will initially include supporting the academic and emotional development of our youngest pupils. Please see the Job Description/Person Specification attached. You will be working alongside the class teacher to provide a high standard of support for all pupils.

The successful candidate will be prepared to work hard and respond to the challenges of day-to-day school life and be committed to supporting the children achieve their best through an engaging and exciting curriculum. This role will include supporting children in the play environment where we encourage our children to experiment, learn, figure things out for themselves, collaborate with peers and take risks.

We would want to appoint a flexible and dedicated professional with the willingness to learn new skills.

You will:

  • Be experienced in an Early Years setting or Reception class.


  • Have a good understanding of child development and Foundation Stage provision.


  • Have experience of effective team work.


  • Model positive relationships and liaise effectively with parents and carers and other professionals.


  • Communicate effectively.


  • Support a calm transition of our children into KS1.
