Full Job Description

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to recruit Early Years and Childcare Advisers to support with Early Years Expansion work including Wraparound support. The posts are being offered on a fixed term basis for one year . Part time work requests will be considered for this post.

The positions are mobile posts, offering flexible working opportunities and will involve a mixture of work from home, our office based in Sunley House (Papworth Everard) and out at settings within Cambridgeshire (a car and driving licence will be required).

The main duties of the role will include:

  • To quality improve and support identified Early Years and/or Childcare settings to ensure high quality sustainable provision.

  • To deliver training and advice on all aspects of the EYFS and/or playwork, promoting equalities, inclusion, and safeguarding.

  • To provide advice and support to settings, in all aspects of EYFS and/or playwork, with a view to raising children's outcomes and enthusiasm for play and learning.

  • To support the development of settings to increase their capacity to provide inclusive and appropriate education for children in vulnerable groups, including SEND., Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, along with our employee network 'IDEAL' and self-organised peer support groups help us to foster an inclusive, supportive and safe working environment where people feel valued, respected, and empowered. We collect relevant diversity data for monitoring as part of the recruitment process to understand the diversity of our applicants and monitor any trends throughout the recruitment processes so that we can take meaningful action.

    The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant qualification in early years or playwork and have a thorough understanding of the sector and vulnerable groups, with at least two years post qualification management level experience and a minimum of five years' experience of direct work in childcare practice.
