Full Job Description

This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy, and a desire to work to a high standard.   • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the building and adherence to Health and Safety regulations at all times

  • Cleaning and tidying of all areas including dining room, lounges, bedrooms, bathrooms and showers/ toilets

  • Responsible for the removal of rubbish, emptying litter bins, vacuum cleaning, sweeping, mopping, polishing, dusting and where necessary, the use of powdered equipment e.g. vacuum cleaners, carpet shampoo machines etc

  • Washing and drying of laundry

  • To report necessary repairs and carry out as required

  • Ensure all cleaning products are in stock and deliveries are checked for quality and against original order and stored appropriately

  • Take an active role in the Domestic Team, including attending meetings and taking an active role in ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to and reporting defects to the Head of Centre

  • To undertake other duties appropriate to running of the centre including, weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working.

    From woods to coast to mountains, Active Learning Centres (ALC) are dedicated to helping young people develop essential skills and character, and to promote wellbeing through outdoor learning.


  • Sealyham Active Learning Centre is based in Pembrokeshire, Southwest Wales, and forms the 'coastal' part of the woods - coast - mountains trio of Active Learning Centres alongside Cuffley (Hertfordshire) and The Towers (Snowdonia). We deliver a wide range of activities in and around the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and within our 90 acres of woodland, with our very own stretch of the beautiful Anghof river. The centrepiece of the site is the stunning historic 120- bed Sealyham Mansion, which is currently undergoing significant refurbishment prior to our opening immediately after Easter 2024.

    Sealyham ALC provides outdoor learning experiences; primarily for children aged 8- 18, with a wide range of bespoke educational and hands-on school trips, but also occasionally for other groups such as colleges, families, and corporate / adult groups. We work closely with groups prior to their travel to ensure that each itinerary meets the needs of the visiting students and teachers., The Active Learning Group and its brands are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and an expectation of this role is to share this commitment.
