Full Job Description

Duties may vary depending on workload and staffing levels and may include the following:

  • Managing all dispensary staff members including staff cover when required, liaising with Pharmacists for staff rotas and holidays.

  • Assisting the pharmacist with the recruitment of dispensary staff

  • Assuming responsibility for training of both new and existing staff, organising participation in external courses, and encouraging further qualifications.

  • Maintaining stock at a reasonable working level and ensuring stock rotation

  • Sorting prescriptions, checking endorsements, submitting prescriptions monthly for reimbursement, completing FP34D and vaccine appendix.

  • Taking responsibility for invoices, payment, and statements, and following up outstanding credits and credit notes from returns

  • Overseeing accuracy and efficiency of dispensing staff

  • Cashing up prescription charges, till and credit card machine.

  • Communicating effectively using email, telephone and face-to-face regarding all enquiries from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, hospices, and suppliers.

  • Liaising with members of clinical staff regarding the medication of individual patients

  • Communicate effectively with other team members and work together towards a solution.

    We have a vacancy for a Dispensary Manager to join and lead our dispensary team to support, develop and enhance our service to our patients. The successful candidate will require a minimum of 2 years previous dispensary experience as a manager and fluent in speaking Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and English as majority of our patients are unable to speak English and can only communicate in South-Asian languages. You will also need to have proven strong leadership and communication skills and be able to demonstrate your ability as a proactive manager., Communicate effectively with patients and carers in different languages (it is a mandatory requirement for the suitable candidate to speak Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and fluent English).
