Full Job Description

Prepworld are looking for a Dispatch Team Leader to oversee logistic functions and planning of dispatch activities for their team. They are responsible for driving accuracy, productivity, and performance to the highest level by efficiently managing the logistics functions.

Oversee the day to day running of the loading bay, including the logistics and yard staff ensuring transport requirements and procedures are adhered to at all times.

To ensure that packed, finished products are managed in accordance with company H&S and technical policies.

Main:

  • Responsible for managing the loading of vehicles, completed finish stocks, loading bay and chiller areas.

  • Planning and scheduling the delivery of goods.

  • Liaise with 3rd party and customer hauliers on delivery/collection times.

  • Ensure checks are carried out on vehicles for suitability including hygiene inspections before loading/unloading.

  • Ensure specific customer security requirement relating to product transportation are adhered to.

  • Ensure depot delivery time slots are not missed. Communicate clearly and regularly any anticipated delay to the Production/Operations Manager.

  • In charge of HGV vehicles on site, forklift movements in yard, pedestrian trucks and general upkeep of the operating and loading areas.

  • Supporting other departments within the company

  • Ensure the full implementation of good manufacturing practices (GMP), and "CLEAN AS YOU GO" in across the whole site.

  • Ensure that picked pallets match picking order/ stock before being loaded into vehicles

  • The role involves some manual handling and the ability to withstand working in cold storage conditions on a daily basis

  • The role requires an alert disposition, working in the vicinity of PPT and moving machinery

    Experience of warehouse/dispatch process

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel and Outlook

  • Experience of managing a team and providing coaching and support

  • Good English skills, both written and spoken & numeracy skills.

  • Experience on Pedestrian pallet truck ( PPT).

  • Days and Hours of work: Sunday to Wednesday, 05:00am - 17:00pm

    Salary: starting at £12.60 per hour, rising to £13 per hour after training and development
