Full Job Description

For over 20 years, the Digitisation Services at the British Library has led the way in digitisation and digital preservation, breathing new life into precious archives and broadening access to audiences worldwide. Our studios, located on two sites, engage in diverse projects with an extensive client base, digitising our vast collections as well as external archives and content.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to manage our Digitisation Services team and studio at Boston Spa, Yorkshire. As the operational lead for customers, you will oversee the achievement of key operational targets with the support of the Head of Operations Development (North) and the Head of Imaging Services (South)., Lead and manage the Digitisation Services team at the Boston Spa studio.
Ensure the packaging and delivery of products and services meet customer expectations and comply with British Library standards and SLAs.
Contribute to the development of service, resources, and processes.
Collaborate across departments to meet technical specifications for image generation and post-processing.
Ensure timely, standard-compliant, and efficient project delivery.
Handle budgetary and financial responsibilities, resource allocation, costing, target setting, and policy formulation.
Manage a large team and extensive operational area effectively.

Proven managerial experience in a related field.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and complex operations.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Experience with budget management and financial responsibilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve common goals.
