Full Job Description

This role is offered as a one-year full-time opportunity for internal candidates only, applications are welcome from those who are interested in taking this on alongside reduced responsibilities in an existing role. It is anticipated that the role will require a commitment of a minimum of 0.6FTE.
The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.

This new role is based in Student Registry which is responsible for university assessments; student immigration; student records; and data analysis and reporting. Given that the Student Digital Hub will be drawing on information from multiple sources, this role will necessarily interact with departments and units across the University.

    About the Role
You will work closely with the delivery team based in the Education Portfolio and be responsible for defining and prioritising the digital service's roadmap. This will be working with multiple stakeholders and users across the university; taking a strategic outlook and ownership of business-critical products; and steering and monitoring a budget in excess of £1million.
This will involve identifying assumptions and mitigating risks; setting and monitoring measurable goals; identifying process simplifications and improving consistency; implementing training and support; and developing a service and governance model.
You will manage vendors to ensure functionality and services are delivered on time, on budget and to the required standards; and produce robust and compelling business cases for secure funding for the delivery of the roadmap.

You will bring with you your experience of engaging and representing stakeholders; building consensus where there are conflicting needs between stakeholders. Communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to inspire the confidence of senior colleagues and use advanced persuasion skills when required.
You will be a strategic thinker, able to problem solve complex issues, take initiatives, set priorities and exercise good judgement in an organised and professional manner.
You will have experience of managing a service and be able to evidence-base recommendations, resolve issues and evaluate success through use of data analytics.
