Full Job Description

We're on the hunt for not one, but two dynamic Development Managers to join our team. Youll have worked in this kind of role with a residential focus (ideally in London) with a minimum of 3 years' experience. You'll be heavily involved in shaping our schemes, managing relationships with joint venture partners and coordinating consultant teams. From securing planning permissions to conducting viability assessments and appraisals. This is your chance to leave a lasting impact on the communities we partner with

You'll thrive in our seasoned team, boasting a track record of securing a substantial number of homes over the past few years, with an impressive 86% success rate in winning new schemes. Your role will entail acquiring new land opportunities, obtaining planning permissions, and ensuring seamless handovers to construction teams. We're particularly interested in candidates who are agile, have a talent for managing multiple workstreams and have experience with cashflow appraisals. Join us in shaping the future of the London residential market whilst making a tangible impact on communities.
The schemes youll be working vary from 300 1500 units with a GDV of 200 million plus! The team consists of 16 people, led by our Partnerships and Communities Director, Marcus Bate. His title tells you all you need to know about how we approach development always in partnership, and always thinking community-first. The measure of success is that our housing association joint venture partners want to work with us again and again. And youll play a key role in that, building relationships with those partners and measuring your success via the feedback we get from them on the regular.
We pride ourselves on our relentless learning culture, constantly reviewing, refining, sharing and getting better. Were expanding because our healthy land pipeline and growing reputation means were optimistic about the future.
Mount Anvil
What we do: Weve worked in partnership for 30 years to create outstanding places in London. Were growing, with our construction turnover doubling, and with a pipeline of new projects where were raring to get started and make a difference.
Why were here: Were here to pursue better, differently.
Better: One of The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For for over a decade, winner of multiple Pride In The Job and WhatHouse awards for our people and the quality of our homes, and proud to have the nations best site in our ranks (winning the highest possible marks across the Considerate Constructors Schemes five areas the first site ever to do so in 22 years of the CCS).
Differently: Our culture is unusual. Different means more transparent with information. More direct with feedback that helps us all grow. More rigorous about setting goals, then giving more freedom to go and achieve them. Its definitely not for everyone. We dont hire know-it-alls, we hire learn-it-alls. As our CEO, Killian, says: We work hard to find people who thrive on context and responsibility, rather than rules and procedures. We then work like owner managers, not a leader and a load of helpers.

Private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality (including discounts on spa breaks, cinema tickets and your food shopping, free Starbucks, 50% off Virgin Active Membership and more).
Income Protection Insurance to help you cope financially if youre unable to work due to illness or injury, Life Assurance equivalent to four times your salary, your annual leave & Bank Holidays and enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference we dislike hierarchy and politics, and not my job isnt in our vernacular. Which means if you really care about raising the bar and really want to feel connected to the end product, as opposed to like a cog in a big machine, this could be the place for you to grow your career.
