Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Clerk to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.

As the Despatch Clerk you will be responsible for booking and monitoring of transport, including creating proper and detailed documentation including updating company systems.
4 on 4 off, 7am - 7pm

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake all aspects of administration in relation to the booking and monitoring of transport

  • Ensure and process all "Goods in" procedures as required ensuring the timely and accurate receipt of stock into the system and notification of any discrepancies to the B.U.s

  • Working alongside Operations Leaders/Team Leaders to ensure that all Transport requirements are organised, documented and communicated to all relevant internal and external customers

  • Establish and maintain excellent clear communication between internal and external customers at all times

  • Ensure regular operational status reports are communicated as necessary to all relevant parties

  • Working with Operations Leaders/Step up Operations Leaders/Team Leaders organising allocation of orders to fit work profile and priority order

  • Ensure all paperwork is completed in line with BRC standards and achieved as per policy

  • Working with Operations Leaders/Team Leaders ensuring vehicle departs to schedule, maintaining required service levels

  • Organising allocation of orders to fit work profile and priority order

  • Spread sheets to be updated and communicated to relevant parties (Bus Stop Time, VTT, Goods in issues, KPIs etc.)

  • Report and investigate variances

    IT literate (Intermediate level)

  • Experience in a fast moving business environment or despatch office

  • Reliable and Flexible

  • Attention to detail - numerically and logically

  • Computer Literate with intermediate Excel knowledge as well as Word and Windows

  • Experience of and ability to work within a multi-functional FMCG environment - Desirable

  • Educated to GCSE standard including English and Maths - Desirable

  • Experience in working in a Pack house/Warehouse or Stock Control - Desirable

  • Preferably experience of working in the Fresh Produce industry or within the Food Industry - Desirable

  • Calm and approachable person - Desirable

  • Be a self-motivated person - Desirable

  • Excellent Organisation Skills - Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills - Desirable
