Full Job Description

Phone patients and arrange for them to be booked in for a Photography Clinic, Face to Face Clinic or to book a surgery appointment.
Ensure document is completed and send confirmation letters to patients
Answer telephone and take message and communicate to the appropriate clinician using the E-Care system for which training will be provided.
STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete "on call" duties within their role.

To book patients in for photography clinics, either via telephone or texting patients. To assist the Skin Analatyics Administrator as required with the urgent suspected cancer pathway.
To check on E-Care for patient's orders placed by clinicians and add the patient to the waiting list on E-Care. Using E-Care, input and maintain patient information and details relating to elective activity, ensuring data is accurate. Using own knowledge and judgement, amend details as required. To be aware of, and monitor, contact exclusions.
To work to maximum waiting time targets as set by the DOH, participating in the regular checking of elective patient's data. Ensure the timely admission of patients to enable the Trust to meet the RTT targets. Bring potential breaches to the attention of Service Managers.
To be aware of maximum waiting time targets for patients, particularly cancer. Monitor the booking of these patients to ensure there are no breaches.
To agree admission dates with patients, and/or respond to consultant requests for the admission of patients. Discuss the timely management and admission of individual patients with consultants or Service Managers, identifying problems and initiating appropriate action.
To assist with admissions for urgent and Rapid Access patients as required, often at short notice. Liaise with the patient to give appropriate information and instructions, either over the telephone or in the clinic.
To book admission dates on E-Care. Selecting appropriate instructions according to the timing and nature of the operation, or procedure. Ensure the relevant information sheets, leaflets or other information accompanies the admission details and that they are correct.

The service is looking for a motivated individual to join our current Administration team to support them with the activities required for the administration of the suspected cancer pathway, assisting with the management of dermatology admissions to Outpatient Theatres, Day Surgery Unit, Outpatient Department and other designated areas. This requires the use of both Inpatient and Outpatient functionality on E-Care, the hospital computer system.
The role will involve liaising with Managers, Consultants and their PA's, Medical and Nursing staff, staff in the Health Records, Outpatient Department and DSU also to communicate externally with patients and relatives, GP's.
This individual will have good communication skills, willingness to learn new IT systems and enjoys being part of a team.
