Deputy Technical Manager

This role is a key position within the Albany Theatre's technical department. As Deputy to Dan Tilley, it is the chance for an ambitious and talented technician to learn how to run a very successful department that includes, as well as other full-time professionals, a team of skilled and committed volunteers, all working to deliver the Albany Theatre's technical operations to the highest standard.

You will have a good knowledge of best working practices, as well as health and safety legislation, accompanied by leadership skills and an ability to inspire paid technical staff and volunteers.
You will bring to the role a strong, demonstrable knowledge of live sound production and a good knowledge of other working areas within a busy working theatre such as lighting, AV production, stage management and counterweight flying, together with a strong familiarity - ideally expertise - with Mac OS including Qlab and the Microsoft Office suite. We use a range of systems to support our work and you will be able to grasp their use quickly.
