We are seeking an experienced and motivated Early Years educator as a Deputy Manager and CUSP Curriculum Lead. The curriculum we are implementing is widely recognised as as the most advanced for early years. We will provide full external support and development to the person taking on this role.

Our Nursery

Moat Barn Nursery School is located within a converted Barns and specialist designed buildings set amongst the Suffolk countryside. We provide children with fantastic opportunities to play and learn inside and outside. Out Forest School is widely recognised as both unique and 'one of a kind'. The nursery is set in a beautiful rural setting yet sonly 3 miles from Woodbridge and only 20 minutes from Ipswich town centre.

The nursery is privately owned and continues to invest heavily in the facilities, the staff team and, the learning environment for children. As well as this, a new curriculum, which will allow our Early Years practitioners to flourish in personal development and extend our children's knowledge to a new level.

Deputy manager and curriculum lead

This is a unique and fulfilling role that incorporates lots of variety day-to-day. As a deputy manager of a large setting, you will be relied upon to support the manager in the leadership of the setting as well as supporting the Moat Barn staff team.

We are currently in the early stages of embedding an exciting new curriculum. Upon joining Moat Barn, you will be fully trained on CUSP so that you can take on the role of implementing this curriculum throughout the setting.

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will need to demonstrate confidence in speaking to parents, efficiently lead a team and communicate effectively with others. You will contribute both in terms of initiative and creativity to an environment which encourages the all-round development of our children.

Candidate roles and responsibilities

· To deputise for the nursery manager

· To support, inspire and lead a large team of early years practitioners in embedding a new curriculum.

· To supervise, peer review and appraise nursery staff as directed

· To provide and help to maintain high standard of care to all children

· To understand the policies and procedures in place within our Nursery, reinforce this throughout the setting and be a reliable person to deal with various situations which will relate to this.

· To be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of our Nursery including cleaning.

· To be a reliable member of the Moat Barn Nursery team, working cooperatively and flexibly whilst fulfilling a range of tasks across our Nursery set by the manager

· Completing peer observations and maintaining an outstanding level of practice across the staff team

· Thinking creatively to progress the nursery forward and maintain an outstanding OFSTED judgement.

· To ensure all records are properly maintained, reviewed and filed.

· To be involved in developing positive relationships with parents/carers and outside agencies with support from Senior staff

· To work productively with colleagues to make sure the rooms are running efficiently and to an outstanding standard

· To assist with the supervision of children whilst playing and learning - both inside and outside

· To assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive classroom environment

· To oversee daily routines throughout the nursery and ensure that they are in line with the new curriculum, our nursery standard and children's level's of development.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000 to 30,000 plus bonus
