Full Job Description

  • As the Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager (DCAM) you will be reporting to BAE Systems Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (MilCAM) who is based at Warton

  • Very much a central role in ensuring Continued Airworthiness of No11 Squadron operating at RAF Leeming and a critical role to provide Technical leadership between the Continuing Airworthiness Management Support Services (CAMSS function), the MilCAM organisation and the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO/P145)

  • You will be the on-site CAMO/Pt M representative assuming the day-to-day CAMO responsibility, as authorised, on behalf of the Head of MilCAMO

  • Provide assurance that high levels of engineering standards & practices are maintained within CAMO & AMO Engineering teams (P145), within the CAMO's area of responsibility (AOR)

  • Be actively engaged in Preventative and Corrective maintenance planning. Be the focal point for triaging of Technical Queries (TQs) managing, as appropriate, to resolution

  • Be actively involved in the planning and coordinating of significant unscheduled maintenance and repair activity, Drafting, Approving and authorising (as appropriate) MilCAM & CAMSS Instructions

  • Ensuring reportable Safety events (DASOR/MEMS) are investigated and resolved appropriately

  • Ensuring that the Accountable Manager is informed of any condition of an aircraft or aircraft component which could impact safety, The Deputy Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (DMilCAM) is responsible for the co-ordination of all appropriate areas to ensure compliance with the relevant continuing airworthiness and maintenance requirements of both the customer contracts and Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Function. It will include activities to any Hawk aircraft operating under the accountability of the BAE Systems Accountable Manager (Military Flying), including deputising for the Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (MilCAM) during periods of absence.

    Background in a Part M/Engineering organisation

  • Educated to a Degree level in an Aeronautical Engineering discipline (or equivalent in an aircraft engineering discipline background). Capable of Professional Registration with Engineering Council, (CEng or IEng working towards CEng)

  • The role requires the breadth to think strategically across the CAMO support organisation and all of its constituent activities and functions

  • Proven track record of Operational management within a Support Environment and can demonstrate compliance with MAOS/DAOS (Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme)/Design Approved Organisation Scheme) regulations
