Full Job Description

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.
A Data Innovation Apprentice will specialise in creating, customizing, and optimizing applications using Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, designing and implementing solutions that improve business processes, and providing ongoing support and enhancements to the applications developed.

Key Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:]

  • Develop custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps

  • Create automated workflows with Power Automate for process optimization

  • Design interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI for data visualization

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance for applications

  • Integrate Power Platform applications with other services and data sources

  • Maintain detailed documentation for applications

  • Provide training, support, and user education for effective application utilization

    Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and related technologies.

  • Development skills: Proficiency in low-code/no-code development, as well as knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.

  • Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to design innovative solutions to complex business problems.

  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Project management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Customer focus: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand and address user needs and concerns.


  • Experience:

  • Previous experience in developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 is a plus.


  • Entry requirements:
    Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)

  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

  • Plus:
  • 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above

  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)


  • You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

    If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
