Full Job Description

The UK Data & Analytics (D&A) team sits at the heart of Vodafone and supports the Business, by delivering insightful data, which is key for the commercial and operational teams to take positive actions to deliver their goals.

Working in the UK Data & Analytics team, the Data Architect will be responsible for supporting the business through consultancy, engaging with partners and project initiatives across the business. You will be responsible for understanding the business priorities and ensuring data solutions for reporting and analytics capability are fit for purpose. You will ensure solutions are strategically delivered and actionable, to drive business value & decision making, whilst remaining in line with the D&A Data Strategy, the business objectives, and within governance & regulatory policies. Key accountabilities include:

  • Data By Design: Providing project consultancy, framework governance and sign off to enable Trusted Data.

  • Capacity/Demand management: Ensuring demand is met appropriately within timelines agreed with the prioritisation and business value. Ensuring appropriate resourcing and timely completion of demand across the team and PI planning quarterly support.

  • Program management: To drive, with authority, the outcomes for D&A programs, based on appropriate design, delivery and sign off and against budget meeting requirements & use cases.

  • Ensure the capture and usability of Data Catalogue information to enable business benefits and Data Governance management.

  • Mentor the Architect community to achieve a high functioning team of Architects.

    Excellent technical, data and architectural understanding & ability to work with a wide variety of disciplines/platforms - Strong working knowledge of Data Warehousing technologies, platforms & tooling, and Semantic layers. An ability to technically understand core IT transactional and CRM platforms and interpret source system generated data into actionable warehouse data through to business data in Data Products

  • Ability to engage, and work with stakeholders across locations and business teams to shape and influence, where applicable & driving valuable outcomes

  • Be able to demonstrate oversight and engagement of deliverables performed by others, ensuring policy and governance adherence and mentoring individuals/teams to achieve standards expected

  • Experience of working in Agile and creating Value for the business through POC's and Strategic deliverables.
