Full Job Description

Facilitate a varied programme of activities for Dadzclub Portsmouth including:

  • A Saturday morning stay and play group for dads and their children.

  • A weekly Monday evening group for dads with slightly older children.

  • Provide a safe and welcoming space on a Wednesday evening for dads to drop in and chat as part of our Dadzchat service.

  • Support annual events organised by Dadzclub.


  • Dadzclub Ambassador Programme:

    Oversee all aspects of the Dadzclub Ambassador Programme, including:
  • Promoting the benefits of becoming an ambassador to local fathers.

  • Working with the volunteer coordinator, actively recruit dads to participate in the Ambassador Programme.

  • Support the Senior Coordinator to develop and conduct training sessions to equip ambassadors with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.

  • Coordinate ambassador attendance and participation at local community events to promote Dadzclub

  • Encourage ambassadors in supporting groups and activities run by Dadzclub.

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to Dadzclub ambassadors, ensuring they feel valued and engaged in their roles. Monitor volunteer performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.


  • Additional responsibilities:
  • Follow feedback, monitoring and evaluation processes

  • Purchase refreshments and supplies for groups

  • Provide admin support to our Facebook group for dads and provide content that both engages and educates

  • Actively promote Dadzclub to reach new dads and grow our engagement.

  • Attend occasional meetings, events and networking opportunities.

  • Assist the fundraising manager with evidence for reports to funders.

  • Assist the Finance Manager by following financial reporting processes.

  • Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post

    The successful applicant will either be a dad themselves or someone who has equivalent knowledge and experience in working in this type of setting

  • Have a natural flair of confidence and a good communicator with both adults and children,

  • Be creative and able to plan engaging activities for adults and children of all ages,

  • Be passionate about parenting and be willing to undergo training to further develop your knowledge and understanding.

  • Be an advocate and positive role model to the important role fathers play in children's lives and be a proven ally to all parents.

  • Work collaboratively alongside colleagues to deliver high quality, consistent and reliable support for families using our services,

  • Enjoy developing positive working relationships with the local community, the local authority, charity and third sector organisations in order to create a network of support for families,

  • Possess a passion for Portsmouth and the diverse communities, organisations and events that make up the city,

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, and follow TPN policies and procedures.

  • Be available to work Saturday mornings
