Full Job Description

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) provides high quality, safe and innovative mental health care to our patients in the community, in their homes or in hospital. We provide services for adults of working age, adults with learning difficulties, and older people in the London area. We currently deliver the majority of our care to residents in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. However, we also provide substance misuse services in Westminster, and a substance misuse and psychological therapies service to people living in Kingston. Our trust is also a member of University College London Partners (UCLP), one of the world's leading academic health science partnerships. In addition we have specialist programmes which provide help and treatment for: veterans living in London, young people caught in the cycle of gang culture, older people living with dementia and other age related mental health conditions. By working in the CRT you will develop strong leadership and dynamic risk assessment & management skills . We have a proven track record of current staff career progression and have a number of training and development opportunities for suitable staff. We also provide our own bespoke in house crisis team training that new starters can benefit from.

Working in one of our crisis teams you will have the opportunity to work across the different aspects of the service which includes:

Crisis -Single Point of Access

A 24/7 telephone service offering support, advice and signposting for people in crisis as well as triaging referrals and booking in face to face crisis team assessments.

Assessments

Undertaking holistic assessments of people in crisis and deciding on collaborative treatment plans as an alternative to acute inpatient care or signposting to appropriate other community or third sector services.

Home Treatment Team

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality person-centred care. You will be using and offered training around the use of CBT/DBT, de-escalation techniques, managing risks, brief supportive counselling skills to work towards shared treatment goals with the service user within their social system.

We would also welcome applicants who want to work part time hours and can also consider secondment opportunities.

Our Crisis Resolution Teams and Crisis Single Point of Access provides a vital service to those experiencing mental ill health. The teams provide intensive support to adults experiencing a mental health crisis within their own communities as an alternative to hospital admission. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
