Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a specialist team. As a crisis manager you will be responsible for building and operating the crisis management programme across the ION Markets group.
The successful candidate will have a track record in hands on designing, building and managing crisis management frameworks alongside exercise capabilities. Ideally from an financial services background, the successful candidate will have practical experience in managing crises from multiple disciplines and have strong technical background or knowledge also.
They will also conduct impact monitoring and analysis for incident management. The role holder will work as part of the Operational Resilience function and will contribute to broader resilience work delivered by the Head of Operational Resilience.,

  • Play a leading role in crisis and issues management for the ION Markets, when high profile issues arise.

  • Be versed in proactive strategies, that help to protect the company from potential threats - including monitoring, reporting and scenario planning.

  • Oversee production of regular crisis risk reports that provide data-driven insights to leadership.

  • Be on-call to handle crisis situations whenever they break.

  • Be responsible for the production of action plans and other deliverables, such as post incident reviews and exercising.

  • Support the development of proactive strategies to mitigate and manage company-wide risks as required, throughout the incident management process.

  • Create frameworks/materials to facilitate effective and appropriate decision making in the event of a crisis.

  • Be versed in utilising software to manage exercising and crisis situations.

  • Prepare and educate the Executive Leadership Team regarding crisis management principles and plan awareness.

  • Contribute to horizon scanning, scenario and strategic risk analysis to help identify, quantify, evaluate and plan for potential future reputation and policy risks within the context of the company strategy and positioning.

  • Collaborate effectively with other senior internal stakeholders and develop escalation frameworks from incident to crisis management across IT, BCP, communication and vendor management stakeholders.

  • Oversee the delivery of complex crisis management plan reviews and framework development.

    Has experience in all aspects of incident and crisis management.

  • Has prior experience advising and managing issues for large, complex multinational organisations.

  • Has experience of managing fast-paced crises driven by technical issues and traditional/social media events.

  • Has experience of using analytics tools which manage, measure and monitor crises.

  • Has a proven track record of developing and implementing practical risk management processes and frameworks.

  • Has a track record of proactively identifying next horizon reputation and regulatory risks and informing and influencing change within organisations to reduce the risk of crises emerging.

  • Has a track record of developing complex crisis management exercises across all levels of management and senior management.

  • Is a strong strategic thinker with the ability and skill set to see the bigger picture as well as understand the nuance and details across different parts of the company.

  • Has experience of working with legal teams, both in-house and outside counsel.

  • Has prior experience of interacting with stakeholders from different territories/markets to identify geographical/local risks and support on preparation/management as needed.

  • Possesses excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills; able to listen to and engage effectively with senior network/global leaders during times when emotions and risks are high.

  • Has a proven track record of handling confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgement.
