Full Job Description

In this role you will provide in-class and individual support to promote the emotional, physical and educational development of students. The role will include covering lessons of absent colleagues as well as providing support and intervention. At times, you may be required to cover in the reflection room, supervising students who have been removed from class. In addition to this staff will be required to undertake other duties as required by the school.

We have been on a journey of improvement over the past seven years and in July 2022 were judged GOOD in all categories by Ofsted which is a major achievement. In our school students are ready to learn and 'low level disruption is rare'. Ofsted were impressed with the excellent behaviour of our students both in lessons and around the school. We pride ourselves on being an 'academy of opportunity' for all with excellent relationships between staff and students.

As a member of staff you will be highly valued and will be supported to flourish within the Cover Supervisor team as well as the academy as a whole.

Although we don't boast a shiny new building, we do have excellent facilities, with a supportive, friendly school culture and ethos which is often commented upon by visitors.

This post would ideally suit a graduate looking to gain experience prior to pursuing a career in teaching, a retired teacher, or someone with previous experience either as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people in a secondary school setting.
