Cook

Wigan Golf Club is seeking a part time permanent cook to be contracted to work 5 days a week a minimum of 20 hours per week (additional hours agreed will be applied on a zero-hour basis).
Wigan Golf Club is a great place to work with a beautiful 18th Century clubhouse encompassing an excellent, modern, commercial kitchen. Our staff and members are both friendly and supportive and look forward to welcoming the right person to our team.
We are looking for a Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers.
Responsibilities include following our menu and setting up weekly specials. Prepare high-quality dishes consistently and ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Also, you should be familiar with basic kitchen sanitation regulations/ kitchen Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen with appropriate cooking utensils and equipment


• Study each recipe to maintain consistency


• Cook food in a timely manner


• Delegate tasks to support staff


• Inform bar staff about daily specials


• Ensure appealing plate presentation


• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)


• Monitor food stock and report accordingly


• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items


• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  
  Proven work experience as a cook


• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment


• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks


• Excellent time management abilities


• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes


• Familiarity with sanitation regulations


• Have appropriate H&S knowledge and Food Handlers Certification

Hourly Rate: Minimum £12.00 per hour.
