Full Job Description

Within Digital, the COO (Chief Operating Officer) team plays a critical role in driving the Digital transformation: we set and implement the overall BT Digital strategy and plans and we are the engine room driving the outcomes required for our customers. We work across multiple customer units (e.g., Consumer, Enterprise, Global divisions) covering needed updates to products, customer journeys, platforms, 3rd parties, strategic partners, IT architecture and innovation.,

  • Deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a contract through to completion, working with BT Sourced / Finance Leads / Senior Manager as required. This will include feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, post contract value management, agreement of final contract signoff.

  • Achieve the highest standards of professional competence dealing with professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of Digital COO.

  • Maintain and develop good relationships with stakeholders, take every opportunity to uphold and increase Digital`s profile.

  • Be aware of and develop efficiency opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Senior Manager, to assist in following up potential value enablers.


  • You'll have the following skills and experience

  • Cost Estimation - Our approach to better service starts with onboarding the correct contractual agreements and a focused payments approach. This will ensure we are only spending where necessary in our organisation. Prepare detailed cost estimates for Software & SubCon contracts based on driving value.

  • Budget Management - Monitor expenditures throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure that costs are kept within the approved budget.

  • Value Engineering - Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising the quality and integrity of the contract. This could involve proposing alternative suppliers that offer better value for money.

  • Tender Analysis - Evaluate contract proposals to ensure that they are competitive and aligned with the business units' budgetary requirements.

  • Cost Control - Throughout the contract life cycle, track costs, identify variances, and take corrective actions to prevent cost overruns. Provide regular reports to stakeholders on the financial status of contracts.

  • Change Management - Manage changes to the contract cost assessing the impact of changes on providing value to the business.

  • Contract Administration - Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts related costs, ensuring that terms and conditions are fair and align with Digitals financial objectives.
