We have recently been named as a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency's latest framework - to help better understand the impact of climate change and risk of flooding for communities in England.

Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework AtkinsRéalis will provide the Environment Agency with survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological and other professional services to help identify and plan for climate events.

This is a significant programme that will help the Environment Agency understand better the impact of climate change and reduce the risk of flooding to communities across England, including the vital response required to support communities that have been flooded.

The Mapping and Modelling Framework underpins the work of the Environment Agency, enabling it to make informed investment decisions based on data and evidence.

As a result of this and other committed projects, we have UK wide vacancies for flood risk consultants to join our world class flood risk management team I a technical role., Technical Work : Conduct detailed technical work, including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and technical reporting.

Ensure quality assurance for technical deliverables. Depending on your skills, you will also be responsible for developing outline designs for our project solutions.

Collaboration and Integration : Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners.

Provide a consistent and integrated service to clients.

Business Development : Support business development activities, including tendering for projects and client / stakeholder engagement., This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.

If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.

This current vacancy is for Consultant grade scientists, engineers and modelers across our primary UK offices.

  • A degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering.

  • Working knowledge or experience of 1D-2D hydraulic modelling using any of Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or HEC-RAS or a strong desire to learn.

  • GIS skills.

  • Some experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for planning, development, and design.

  • Some experience in carrying out a hydrological assessment, or a strong desire to learn.
